One of the most enjoyable and most popular form of recreation is fishing, while some people are doing this activity as a method of or ways of earning an income or profit which can provide them and their families for their living expenses. Fishing is the act of trying to catch fish, and there are a lot of different techniques that are being practice by the people in the process of doing such activity, and that includes spearing, netting, trapping, angling and hand gathering. The most commonly used equipment for fishing includes rods, sinkers, baits, lures, reels, tackles boxes, waders, nets, gaffs, traps, lines, hooks and floats, and the term that are being used by the fishermen in referring to fishing equipment or tools is tackle. The different types of fishers are called as recreational fishers, commercial fishers and artisanal fishers, and these three are using different types of techniques, in which recreational fishers are doing this activity for sport or pleasure, commercial fishers to gain income or profit, and artisanal fishers are using doing this activity for survival.
Recreational fishing is similar to sport fishing, and it is done for pleasure or for competition, and basically, applications of laws, restrictions, conventions, rules and licensing are being used which can limit the practice of these fishermen of catching fish, and those are with the use of hooks, rods, baits or lures like artificial flies, reel, and line. Angling is the act of fishing with the use of hooks, and the fishermen are expected and required to return the fishes that they have caught to the water, such as in the sea, water or lake, and this act is called as catch and release. Another term for sport fishing is game fishing, and the acquired reward for such fishing activity is the challenge of finding and catching some of the most common species of fish, such as tarpon, shark, sailfish, mackerel, tuna and marlin. Fishing vessels is a water vessel which can be a type of boat or ship designed for fishing, and the common examples for these fishing vessels are rafts, pontoon boats, dinghies, cruising yachts, cabin cruisers, charter boat, kayaks and dugout canoes, and that are being used by the fishermen to catch the fishes in sea, lakes or rivers. Fishing charter is the term being used by the people in the act of using a type of fishing vessel which is called as charter boat, and charter boats are being leased, hired and rented by the recreational fishermen, people, families or vacationers for private and exclusive purposes and usage.
